How Far in Advance Should You Book a Yacht Charter?

Yacht charter availability works much like booking a popular hotel during high season — the best yachts and the best weeks go first.

General booking timeline

• 6–12 months ahead: ideal for peak summer weeks (July–August in the Mediterranean, winter high season in the Caribbean) and for the most in-demand yachts
• 3–6 months ahead: still gives good choice across most fleets and destinations
• Under 8 weeks: possible, especially in shoulder season, but your choice of yacht and exact dates will be more limited

Why booking early matters

Popular yachts are often re-booked by returning guests before the season even ends. Early booking also gives you more time to plan a detailed itinerary, arrange special requests (catering, water toys, celebrations) and secure competitive rates before any seasonal price increases.

Last-minute charters
